in July The Greater Monticello Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Christmas in July Golf Outing on Friday, July 10, 2009 at Pine View Golf Course with tee-off times at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. A luncheon is scheduled at 11:30 a.m., announced Janet Dold, Executive Director. “Each year, we find new ways to improve the Christmas in July outing,” said Dow Dellinger, Event Chairman. “The Chamber’s golf event was one of the first in the community, and it is one of the most popular. Our golfers enjoy a full day of activities at a reasonable price.” “With the 15th anniversary celebration,
we are reminded how organizer Wayne Bonnell and the Pine View family has been so generous to the community and the Chamber/CVB,”
said Marty Cotterman, Chamber President. “Without their generosity and promotion, this event would not be as successful
as it is.” “The Chamber Board of Directors earmarks part of the proceeds from the golf outing for our White County
Scholarship Fund. Annually, we award four scholarships,” said Dold. “This is the Chamber’s largest fund-raiser
of the year,” We appreciate the annual support given by community businesses.” The 18-hole shotgun-start scramble is open to the entire community. You don’t have to be a Chamber member to be a sponsor or play in the golf outing. Fees for the tourney are: Individual, $50; Foursome, $175; Hole Sponsor, $100; Hole Sponsor and Foursome: $250.
